John Schultheis Skating Page
I have been skating for fun and exercise for a number of years now. I tried jogging years ago, but it just pounded on my shins, and caused a great deal of pain in my calves, ankles and shins. I decided to try skating as an alternative. I figured that it would be a good "low impact" aerobic exercise, as long as I don't "impact" the pavement.
During the warm Spring through Fall months, I skate every Monday night with Après Ski Club. We skate on the Los Gatos Creek Trail from Campbell CA to Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos CA and back. It is about an 8 mile round trip. Afterwards we meet at a local restaurant for dinner. For more details, check “Activities - Land Sports – Rollerblade” on the Après Web Page.
I addition, occasionally I skate to work, but not very often. There are some real nice bike-paths in the area, and some of these are great for skating.
